La Emperatriz: Las Dagas y El Diario follows the story of Katharine Blackdagger, a girl living in a magical world, in an Empire with her younger sister. In the current world, the Empire is at war with another nation, besides, for reasons unknown to her, her parents and oldest brother disappared. This event make them orphans, but they soon are protected by a General. Yet to worst everything, a misterious threat strikes the whole world, making the Empire shorten the training periods. The novel explores themes of internal struggle, the needs to know her family whereabout and her magic, as well as finding her place in the Empire. As Katharine embarks on her journey to get to the truth by joining the Military Academy, she must confront not only external obstacles like class masters, uncertain mates in arms and training that look like impossible... But also the ghosts of her Magic, memories never lived and family emotions, ultimately discovering clues. All of it due to a single goal: get to know and why, for her and for her sister.
