What are modules and elements?
Modules are the individual tools that you’ll use to write and worldbuild your story on Campfire. For example, the Manuscript Module is Campfire’s word processor, where you can draft your novels, short stories, and more.
Elements are the individual files you’ll create in each of Campfire’s modules. For example, one character sheet would be one Character Module element, and one family tree would be one Relationships Module element.
What happens if I hit the free plan limits while writing?
You’ll be notified on the browser and desktop apps if you try to create more elements than the free limits allow for.
On the mobile writing app, CF Creators, you’ll be able to create an unlimited number of elements; however, not all modules are available there. If you access your account on the browser or desktop apps, you’ll be able to edit the number of elements that the free plan allows, and the rest will be read-only. For example, if you create eleven characters on the mobile writing app, then switch to your browser, you’ll be able to edit the first ten characters you created, and the eleventh will be read-only.
To create and edit more elements, you’ll need to upgrade your account plan.
What does a paid plan allow me to do on Campfire?
All paid plans give you unlimited access to the modules included in your plan across Campfire’s browser, desktop, and mobile writing apps. Learn more about Campfire’s writing apps →
What payment methods does Campfire accept?
Campfire accepts all major credit and debit card brands, as well as PayPal.
We accept payment in United States Dollars (USD) and other international currencies, including CAD, AUD, EUR, GBP, BRL, ZAR, and over a hundred others. If you are in the European Union, VAT will be added at checkout.
If I create a custom plan, do I still get access to the other modules for free?
Yes! If you purchase any individual modules, you'll have access for the period of time your plan allows for (either on a subscription or for life), while still retaining free access to everything else you haven't paid for.
Will I need to pay for product updates?
All purchases come with future updates and bug fixes to the modules included in the package you purchased, for the duration of your plan.
If you purchase the Standard Lifetime package, that also includes future modules we may develop and release.
If you create a custom lifetime package, you receive updates and bug fixes to only the modules you select, not future ones we may release.
What if I want to change or upgrade my plan?
You can change your plan from the Subscriptions and Billing page of your account at any time!
If you're switching from a monthly subscription to a lifetime purchase, the monthly subscription will cycle through before your lifetime purchase activates.
If you want to consolidate custom subscription plans (custom → standard plan), you will need to cancel your individual subscriptions, then create a new subscription that includes everything you want it to at once. Subscriptions cannot be stopped in the middle of their cycle, so a canceled subscription must first cycle through before a new one can take effect.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?
All subscription plans will renew monthly or annually until you cancel them. If you wish to end a subscription, visit your Subscriptions and Billing page to edit your plan. You’ll keep unlimited access to your work in Campfire through the end of your subscription. Afterwards, every element beyond the free plan limits will become read-only.
What is Campfire’s refund policy?
You can request a refund within 30 days for lifetime purchases and annual subscriptions to receive your money back, no questions asked! Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable.
